The crucial election of the Ganjam Bar Association was held here on Saturday for the session 2022-23 through secret ballot. Former President of Ganjam Bar Association lawyer Kapil Pattnaik was elected as president of the Bar for the third time.
Among others who have been elected to the prestigious GBA include
Sushil Kumar Tripathy as secretary, Prakash Chandra Das as
vice-president and B Durga Rao as joint secretary.
A total of 1,248 lawyers out of 1,432 eligible members exercised their
franchise, sources said.
According to information available, the election to different Bar
associations in Ganjam district was also held in their respective
places simultaneously. Ramanath Mishra was elected as president of
Paralakhemundi Bar Association; Rabindra Kumar Nayak was elected as president of Mohana Bar Association (under Gajpati District Bar
Association), Surendranath Panda was elected president of Aska Bar
Association, Prasant Kumar Panda got elected as president of
Khallikote Bar Association, Pradip Kumar Padhi was elected president
of Chatrapur Bar Association, Mihirkanta Panigrahi was elected
president of Buguda Bar Association, Dwitikrushna Sabat was elected
president of Hinjilikatu Bar Association and Santosh Kumar Nayak was
elected as president of Bhanjanagar Bar Association.
