Keeping the public perception and interest of the Ganjam public in mind, secretary of the Ganjam Bar Association (Brahmapur)  Kailash Panigrahi has sent a letter on Monday to the Collector, Gajam, requesting him to take immediate steps to seal the Brahmapur city as well as the district of Ganjam as a whole to prevent further spread of corona virus in the district.

Expressing serious concern on the spiraling growth of positive cases in Ganjam, the letter pointed out that the current state of corona pandemic in and around Brahmapur city in general and the Ganjam district in particular is quite alarming and has posed a serious threat to the mankind.

The letter further said that unless each and every entry point to silk city is sealed and check-points are facilitated for thorough screening of emergency entries by the district administration, the current rate of growth of Covid-19 positive cases in the district would be difficult to arrest.

However, the district administration can give relaxation only to certain routine economic activities needed for survival, the letter told.

The Bar Association has extended a copy of the memorandum to the SPs of both Ganjam and Brahmapur Police Circle and Brahmapur Sub-Collector for taking necessary steps in the matter.
