Blast in Ghodabar a pointer
The police here on Saturday with a forensic team conducted an investigation into the bomb explosion in Ghodabar village’s community centre hall under the Banki police area in Cuttack district on Friday evening and recovered three country-made crude bombs.
Two persons, Manas Nayak (40) and Pabitra Nayak (43), were killed and one Paramananda Nayak was grievously injured in the blast.
Talking to this paper, Banki SDPO P Pradhan said that the high intensity bombs were either stored in the community centre hall or the victims were engaged in making the bombs when they went off. The police team also recovered some raw materials used in making of the crude bombs, added Pradhan.
The incident clearly envisages that criminals have made the area as their safe haven and several robbery, dacoity and other criminal activities are occurring in Ansupa route and Cuttack-Banki route due to the patronage the criminals are enjoying in the locality. Locals said that a number of people in Gholapur, Ghodabar, Kantpahanra, Subarnapur and Malabiharpur are in illegal possession of country made guns, bombs and revolvers.
