A minor girl of Indumatipatna village under the Banki police station was kidnapped allegedly by one Avaya Swain of the same village on December 3 while she was returning from her school.
An FIR was lodged by the girl’s family members with the Banki police. But the investigating officer has failed to arrest the accused even after about a fortnight, alleged the family members.
The family members suspect political pressure on police by any influential leader. They said they would stage a dharna before the Banki police station if the police fail to arrest the accused within a couple of days. On the other hand, police declined to comment in the matter, only saying the case is still under investigation and they can't disclose any more information right now.
