Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) general secretary Debasish Pattnaik on Wednesday alleged when lakhs of people are suffering due to the twin calamity of Phailin and floods, Government Chief Whip Pravat Tripathy played a cruel joke by observing Banki Mahotsav at a grand scale with massive squandering of money.
Pattnaik slammed the BJD Government, saying that its true skin has been exposed after its three Ministers and an MP, besides the Government Chief Whip, resorted to merry making and spent huge sums of money in it without any concern for the calamity-stressed people.
The PCC general secretary said the function was attended by three Cabinet Ministers including Damodar Rout, Kalpataru Das, Debi Mishra and party MP Bhatruhari Mahatab. When the State Government has been shedding so much tear about the miseries being suffered by the cyclone and flood-hit people, how these high profile Ministers, MP and local MlA were allowed to spend time in merrymaking, asked the Congress leader.He also dared Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to sack the three Ministers and the Chief Whip.
