Bank employees associations AIBOA and AIBEA held a dharna here against the sudden demonetisation decision without adequate supportive steps by the RBI, the IBA and the Government, which has put the bank employees in a very difficult position.
They alleged that despite appeal to RBI no perceptible measures have been taken so far.
The bank staff unions demanded supply of adequate cash to all banks and branches without discrimination, restoration of all ATMs, CBI probe into huge new cash recoveries at various places, safety of bank officials, and extra payment for extra work and late sitting.
They threatened if RBI was not able to supply adequate cash, then all cash transactions will be suspended till sufficient cash was supplied to all banks.
AOBEA and AIBOA State Committee general secretaries Prafulla Kumar Tripathy and Ajay Kumar Routray, besides union leaders Pradip Pattnaik, Sanjib Pati, Ramesh Chandra Mansingh, Surendra Mohanty, Prabodh Ranjan Biswal, Ashok Das, Debashish Ray, Sitanshu Behera, Dasarathi Patttnaik, Prabodh Mishra, Janmejaya Mishra and Ashok Sahoo participated in the dharna.
