The Commissionerate Police on Wednesday recovered the body of a banker from a hotel at Ashok Nagar in the city. The deceased identified as Soumya Ranjan Nayak of Bhadrak had been staying in the Arya Palace from May 31. The Capital police said Nayak’s body was found hanging from the ceiling fan in room number 300 of the hotel. The body was sent to the Capital Hospital for autopsy.
Family sources said Nayak was working with the Indian Bank in Madurai. The bank administration had suspended him on charges of corruption. They even said a complaint against him was lodged at a police station in Madurai, informed Capital PS IIC MR Garanaik. “As of now, we don’t have any documents to corroborate their claims. We are investigating the case after lodging an unnatural death case,” he added.
