Acknowledging the Paradip Port's recognition as the country's premier port for cargo traffic by the end of the current fiscal year, the Paradip Port Banik Sangha expressed its gratitude to PPT Chairman PL Haranadh for his competence and generosity.
The port, under his leadership, has not only achieved distinctions in cargo traffic but also witnessed the successful celebration of Boita Bandan, a historic event.
The significant inclusion of President Droupadi Murmu as the chief guest in the Boita Bandan celebrations added another layer of prestige to this historic event. However, amidst these achievements, concerns arose due to a decision by the Paradip Port Authority's Finance Department to increase the rent of shops and commercial houses in the port area by 100 to 170 per cent. This increase, deemed excessive by numerous traders operating in Paradip Port Township, prompted Paradip Port Banik Sangha president Santosh Kumar Pattnaik to address the issue.
In a proactive approach, Pattnaik met with Port Chairman Haranadh and submitted a written request, urging a reconsideration of the escalated house rents to alleviate the challenges faced by the traders. Responding sympathetically, Chairman Haranadh assured a thorough discussion to address the concerns and pledged to consider the traders' interests in determining the house rents.
Expressing their gratitude, the Sangha conveyed appreciation for the Chairman's understanding and commitment to finding an equitable resolution.
