A Rourkela bandh called by the Rourkela Bar Association (RBA) on demand of a High Court Bench in western Odisha passed off peacefully on Wednesday. Normal life was affected as shops and other businessmen establishments were closed and buses were off the roads.
Even rail services were disrupted for some time due to picketing by the lawyers at the Rourkela station. Government offices, educational institutions, banks and petrol pumps were closed totally. However, the bandh had no impact on the Rourkela Steel Plant.
