The Koshal State Coordination Committee (KSCC) observed a 12- hour bandh in Birmaharajpur on Friday for a false case lodged against Koshal Youth Coordination Commitee (KYCC) president Artatxrana Dash by Birmaharajpur Sub-Collector Subrat Behera.
As per sources, Birmaharajpur Sub Collector Behera had lodged a complaint against Dash and some of his supporters at Birmaharajpur Police Station on August 20. In reaction, the KSCC had submitted a petition to Collector Madhusudan Mishra demanding that the case be withdrawn. But as no action was taken, it had given the bandh call.
Normal life was disrupted due to the bandh.While shops and business establishments remained closed, vehicular traffic was disrupted. The KSCC claimed that the bandh was supported by all sections of people. Among others, KSCC coordinator Kishore Hota, Youth coordinator Bibhudatta Mishra, Balangir district coordinator Rabishankar Mishra, Sabya Sachi Mishra,Naba Krushna Danta, Ranaraj Singh Deo, Nilkamal Mishra, Naba Kishore Tripathy, Aditya Purohit, Subrat Hota were present. Over 100 activists picketed in the town.
