The people of India cannot get liberated from the bondage of blind beliefs, social inequality and exploitation as long as political parties make caste and creed based politics, said Freethought Party of India (FPI).
In a Press release, FPI general Secretary B Ramchandra CST Voltaire demanded that the courts of law, particularly, the Supreme Court of India whose duty is to preserve human dignity and citizens’honou, should come heavily on caste-creed-based parties and ban them.
If “caste” is really driven out from the socio-political map of India then, parties like the PMK (Pattali Makkal Katchi-led by Dr A Ramadoss) in Tamil Nadu, the RJD in Bihar, the SP (Samajwadi Party) in UP, the BSP (Bahujan Samaj Party) in UP would be out of business, said Voltaire, adding that these parties, for their own survival, these parties, very much aim at preserving the caste system and perpetuating the hold of Brahmins, all rituals and all festivals. These parties want caste reservation in education, jobs, legislative bodies, Panchayat Raj Intuitions and in ULBs.
Such parties based on caste or religion are purposefully remaining conservative and reactionary---all in the name of culture. Such parties also allow their youth wings to observe feudalistic ceremonies, all religious festivals—again all in the name of culture and “hallowed” tradition, opined Voltaire.
