Vigilance sleuths on Monday arrested SI Debendra Kumar Sahoo of the Balakati police outpost in Khordha district on the charge of taking bribe of Rs 10,000 from complainant Ramakanta Sahoo for release of original invoice in connection with purchase of copper/bell metal and for allowing him to run his business smoothly in Balakati area. On the complaint of Sahoo, the anti-corruption agency offers laid a trap and nabbed the SI red-handed while taking the demanded money near Central Mall at Vani Vihar in Bhubaneswar.
His room within Balakati outpost premises and residential Government quarter at Unit-9, Bhubaneswar were under search, informed an official release.
