The Sahadevkhunta police arrested an accused who killed his wife two days ago and misled the police.
He was identified as Kapil Biswal (51) of Angargadia and was forwarded to court on Friday. later, he was sent to jail after rejection of his bail petition.
The accused had smashed the head of his wife Salma Biswal (45) on Tuesday night with a heavy object over a dispute. Next morning, he took her to the Baleswar headquarters hospital pretending that his wife was not responding. The hospital had received her dead. The police after finding a compliant began an investigation by registering a case of unnatural death. The postmortem report of the body revealed that she succumbed to injury caused due to hitting of a heavy object on her head.
On further investigation, the police could learn that none but Kapil was the killer. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime. The weapon of offence was seized.
Police could learn that the deceased was the second wife of Kapil and they have two children out of the wedlock. They both were working in a brick kiln unit. Police could also know that Kapil was beating his wife most often over petty issues.
