The Khantapara police arrested two person, including woman and her paramour, unearthing a murder mystery of a former Sarpanch that took place on Saturday night.
Jaydev Daspradhan (40) of Barunsing village died on the way to the SCB Medical College Hospital, Cuttack, while ferried for treatment of deep head injury. The accused duo was identified as Tilottama Daspradhan of Barunsing village and Mitesh Parida of Sergarh. They were forwarded to court after being booked under various sections of IPC, said police.
The reason behind the murder is extra marital relationship between Tilottama and Mitesh. Mitesh was driving a four-wheeler owned by Jaydev about four years ago. Since then Tillotamma, a mother of two children, including a 14 years old daughter and a 12 years old son, developed illicit relationship with him.
For the reason there was a family disturbance between Tilottama and her husband Jaydev and Mitesh was disengaged from the driver’s job. However, Mitesh while running a betel shop near Sergarh continued the illicit relationship unabated. In order to eliminate Jaydev, his wife had hatched a conspiracy with Mitesh.
With the call details, the police could learn Tilottama had conversations with Mitesh a number of times before and after the incident. The duo confessed to the crime on being interrogated.
As per their plan, Mitesh entered into the house through the opened gate and Tilottama gave her an axe by which he hit the deceased on his head causing grievous injury, leading to his death.
