Establishment of the second Kendriya Vidyalaya(KV) in Baleswar could see the light of the day after the State Government sanctions the required land for advanced possession of the KV Sangathan (KVS), said sources.
Ten acres of land while is required by the KVS to establish the school, the district administration has identified two patches of land, the one measuring 6.29 acres under Chhanpur mouza and the other adjacent to the former of 3.71 acres at Sanakia mouza under Remuna block. The district Collector while sent the proposal of the land to the RDC for approval, it was duly cleared.
There have been demands from various corners in the district for establishment of a second KV to cater to the growing need since 2005. The movement for a second KV started in 2011.
The team members of the KVS visited a number of times to Baleswar for the purpose yet they could not finalise the matter for one reason or the other.
District Collector Pramod Das said, “Even after identification of land as per KVS requirement, the project was sluggish. Baleswar MP RK Jena took up the matter seriously with the KVS authorities in Delhi as well in Bhubaneswar. His intervention finally paid off.”
“The second KV in Baleswar has been a long standing demand of the district . The issue was pursued with the KV authorities and the State Government has approved the proposal for advance possession of land. The KVS now can begin construction,” asserted MP Jena.
