A foster father was sentenced to undergo 10 years RI in Baleswar district on Friday for sexually assaulting his 7-year-old daughter three years back.
Jaga Hembram of Govindpur village under Khaira PS on April 28, 2014, took his minor daughter to nearby Palasa forest and sexually assaulted her.
The incident occurred in the evening hours and the girl narrated her ordeals to her mother after returning home. Jaga's wife lodged a complaint in the Khaira police station and Jaga was arrested.
ADJ Baleswar Ajanta Sarangi awarded 10 years RI and fined Rs 5,000 on
the accused.
