The Baleswar Bar Association has expressed serious discontentment over the vacant posts in different courts of Baleswar and threatened cease-work for two days on Thursday and Friday next. Association president Niranjan Panda on Saturday stated that over 65,000 cases are pending in different courts while several posts in the rank of magistrate and chief judicial magistrate and in the family court have been lying vacant for months. As a result, litigants from all over the district are suffering. It may be noted that the bar members have been observing cease-work every Saturday on the demand of a permanent HC Bench in north Odisha.
