As part of boosting postal service, especially the letters dropped in the post boxes, the local postal circle here has installed Nanyatha software in 70 letter boxes in the first phase.
Through the software, anyone can monitor the clearance details of the letterboxes. Superintendent of postal department Baleswar Jayant Kumar Das said that at a time when there have been complaints, the letters dropped in the boxes are not collected for days together.
However, this software has been a shot in the arm for a common man.
On can monitor when boxes when the boxes were opened and collected and how many letters were collected each day, etc., through the Nanyatha App.
Electronic clearance of letterboxes covered through the Nanyatha software will help in avoiding delays in clearance of letterboxes and thereby expediting the processing, transmission, and delivery of letters dropped in the boxes.
Besides, it is also a useful tool for the divisional heads to monitor online the timely clearance of letterboxes. The data will also help rationalise letterboxes based onthe number of letters posted in a letterbox over a period of time.
In the initial phase while 70 identified letterboxes have been upgraded with the software, 330 letterboxes across the district will be equipped with the software phase-wise, added Das, claiming that this would enhance the confidence of common people.
