The Sadar police, acting on about an 18-month-old case, arrested a murder accused and forwarded him to court on Sunday. The accused was identified as Laxmidhar Jena (42), a resident of Aladia village under Chandipur police station limits. Jena in association with one Satyabati Bharati had murdered Kusa Bharati and the duo had projected the case as a suicide. According to the IIC Sadar Ashok Nayak, accused Jena was working as a manager in a poultry farm owned by deceased Kusa. Jena developed an illicit relationship with Satyabati, the wife of Kusa. After learning about their extramarital affairs, Kusa had warned of his wife torefrain from such affair and removed Jena from the job. Angry over the action of Kusa, Jena and Satyabati conspired and murdered him. They had projected the death as suicide. Deceased’s brother, Jadunath Bharati had lodged an FIR with police, alleging that Kusa was murdered. After commission of the crime, Satyabati while absconded from the locality, Jena was managing the poultry farm of Kusa as owner. The police after an investigation arrested Jena while Satyabati is still absconding, the reports said.
