Balasore Law College Principal suspended

Principal of the Balasore Law College Rabi Narayan Panda has been suspended by the college management committee on the allegation of large-scale financial and administrative irregularities.

Panda has been removed from the post following suspension and college Vice-Principal Dr Rajalaxmi Jatti has been entrusted with the charge of the post.

There have been allegations against Panda from several quarters. It is alleged that he committed financial embezzlement mainly when the management committee was virtually defunct. These aspects were probed after a new management committee headed by former Baleswar MP RK Jena was formed a couple of months ago.

“The principal has been placed under suspension with immediate effect till the inquiry is completed as he couldn’t give satisfactory replies to several quarries. The preliminary inquiry suggested irregularities, including financial. However, the management will offer Panda an opportunity to put forth his side against the allegations and take a final call after receiving his reply,” said Jena.

Notably, in the initial stage of the probe, the college Head Clerk was suspended after detection of his involvement in the case.
