The Balasore Alloys ltd (BAl) has launched a massive greenery drive for environment protection. The “living Greener” drive aims at improving greenery in Baleswar district with the company planting 30,000 trees in this financial year.
The drive was launched by BAl Vice-President (Operation) SV Bhabani Varma in the presence of Regional Officer, Odisha Pollution Control Board Dr AK Chatterjee on the World Environment Day (WED) on Wednesday. BlA GM (IR&HR) Ashok Tripathi and GM (Engineering) PA Mishra and other officials were also present.
Verma said, “The theme for this year’s WED is ‘Think, Eat, Save’. We are committed to reducing and saving the resources for our next generation by reducing the waste through our improved processes. While we have been advising our employees to reduce the food wastes, we are also pursuing aggressively the effort of plantation.”
