An agriculture official in the district was suspended on the charge of corruption on Thursday.
The authorities placed Subhendu Behera, Village Agriculture Worker (VAW) of Puintala block, under suspension for allegedly demanding bribe at his residence.
District Collector Arindam Dakua also ordered the Puintala BDO for a probe into the allegation of bribery against Behera.
The action was taken after a video featuring the official demanding bribe went viral in media. In the video, Behera was seen asking a farmer for bribe for financial aid being provided by the Government for the crop losses.
