A minor girl was allegedly impregnated and betrayed by a youth at Chalki village under the Muribahal police station in Balangir district.
The girl has sought help of the Balangir Superintendent of Police seeking justice.
Sources said that one Raghu Benia of Chalki village had allegedly raped the girl of the same village few months ago. When she became pregnant, the youth assured her of marrying her. When the eight-month pregnant girl asked Raghu to take her to his house, the latter refused to do so.
Left with no option, the girl turned up at the Muribahal police station and lodged a written complaint against the accused. As the cops allegedly did not take any action in this regard, she approached the SP seeking his intervention.
