According to reports, a person had planned to sell his 11 acre land in Dhumamara of Balangir district and had taken the help of Timan for the same. But one Purusottam Patel, who had share in the land, opposed the deal.

Parsuram of Khuntpali had lodged a complaint at the Sadar police station here alleging that while he and his brother Ghanshyam Patel were working in their cycle shop at Barapudgia, Srikant along with his associates came to his shop  in a SUV and forcibly demanded to sign on the some documents pertaining to the sale of the land which was located on the backside of the Hanuman temple at Dhumamara.

When Parsuram and his brother declined, citing that a civil case was going on, Timan and his associates first assaulted them and then forcibly took the duo to a jungle in their Scorpio and forced Parsuram to sign on a stamp paper.

But again when both the brothers did not give their signature on the paper, they assaulted them and left them in the jungle.

The police registered a case under various Sections of IPC on June 15. Notably, Timan and his associates are notorious for extortion, tender fixing and land grabbing in Balangir and  have about 20 cases in Balangir Town police station and Sadar police station.
