A day after the last voice call record of deceased Sambalpuri album actor Simran Singh went viral on social media, the Belpada police in Balangir district arrested her husband Ranju Suna on Saturday.
However, Suna has denied the allegations of his involvement in Simran’s death saying that he does not know whether she committed suicide or was killed by somebody.
He said they had married without the consent of their families in 2017. However, Simran was staying separately following some disturbances.
Suna further stated that Simran had made suicide attempts earlier and he consoled her each time over phone. “She had approached me to bring her to my house. But I had refused her since there were already many disturbances. Simran used to go to hotels with her co-workers which I did not like,” said the accused.
He said the murder allegation against him is completely false. “I am here with my family and we had stopped talking to each other for the last couple of days,” he said
In her voice message, Simran claimed that she was mentally depressed and was going away from everyone.
