The servitor of the Baladevjew temple will light Akhanda Diyas at the sanctum sanctorum on the Snan Purnima to pray the Lord to give good sense to CM Naveen Patnaik for permitting Rath Yatra in Kendrapada. The servitors appealed to the devotees, and denizens of Kendrapada to light diyas at their houses and also at basil plant as a mark of protest against the State Government's decision for not allowing Rath Yatra anywhere in the State, except Puri. District Collector Amrut Rituraj, on Thursday strictly prohibited the Baladevjew Temple Endowment Trust board to construct Brahma Taladhwaj chariot, which signals that Rath Yatra will not be held in the district. This had sparked off resentment among people of all shades and variety. The district BJP unit on June 18 had held a dharna in front of the district Collector office demanding permission for the Rath Yatra in Kendrapada. Even, the servitors of Baladevjew temple, several religious organisations, sadhus and mahants along with several political parties had urged for the permission to organise Car festival at the Baladevjew temple by adopting Covid guidelines. The servitors had moved the High Court over the issue as well.
