Baipada youths tonsure heads for Ambedkar

The Triranga Club of Baripada observed Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s 61st Parinirvan Divas (death anniversary) here in a unique way.

Club members Manu Bagh and Fakir Telenga tonsured their heads in front of Babasaheb’s statue on the occasion as a mark of respect to the great leader. Moreover, refusing to be contended with only garlanding the statue and holding a meeting in memory of Ambedkar, all the members of the Triranga Club along with Ambedkar Dalit Sangh volunteers undertook a massive Swachchhata Abhiyan (cleanliness drive) in the town’s neglected Purnachandrapur area. The members of both the organisations then took oath to live up to the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, and Ambedkar, the Father of the Constitution, and make cleanliness a way of life.
