Senior BJD leader and Kendrapada MP Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda on Friday urged Union Environment and Forests Minister Prakash Javedekar to expedite the issue of stage-1 clearance for the ongoing Haridaspur-Paradip Railway project.
Panda made this appeal to the Union Minister during a discussion between them in New Delhi. Panda discussed issues related to implementation of the Haridaspur- Paradeep Railway project.
The railway project would be the first railway project for kendrapada district and would cover three districts, Jajpur, Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur.
Panda informed Javedkar that the project work has started and the physical progress of the project implementation was analysed as 30 percent during the review meeting held in this month. There is some patches of forest land in both Jajpur and Kendrapara which requires environmental clearance. The State Government has already recommented to the Centre for the stage-l clearance, Panda said.
