The famous Bahuda Yatra and Sunavesha of lord Jagannath, lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra were held at Brahmanagar Third line here. The Brahmanagar Jagannath Puja Committee successfully managed the two occasions.
After the chariot was turned to south, Ashutosh Patra and Anup Patra conducted ‘chhera pahara’ (sweeping) on it. Hundreds of devotees participated in this Bahuda Yatra. The deities were brought out of Mauisma temple in pahandi procession amidst beating of drums, cymbals and bugles and citing of Haribol and Nulahali. The Sunavesh ritual remained the point of attraction of the devotees. To entertain the enthusiastic devotees, ‘Dasakathia’ of Ganjam (Haladiapadar) was performed by Niranjan Mohanty, Nirup Pattnaik, Debadutta Mohanty, Anewesh Pattnaik, Trinath Parida, Upendra Subudhi, Suresh Satapathy, Biswamohan Pattnaik and several others.
