The Bahuda Yatra and Suna Vesha of lord Jagannath were celebrated with much fervour by residents of Brahmanagar here on Monday in the memory of noted social activists late Arjun Patra and Sashirekha Patra.
The chariots were glided in a procession en route Brajanagar, Brahmanagar, New Bus Stand in a colorful procession. lord Jagannath tasted Podapitha (baked cake) at the Mausima temple as per the tradition.
Hundreds of devotees jostled each other to have a glimpse of the trinity who came out of the Gundicha temple after nine days.
Several young devotees danced to the tunes of Ghanta, cymbals, drums while the blowing of conchs and trumpets created a serenely atmosphere in the area. Notably, the festival has been conducted in the area for the last one decade with the cooperation of the local residents.
