Jeypore Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati paid a one-day visit to Gajapati district on Saturday and looked into his party’s organisational matters. He too moved watching various developmental projects and paid a courtesy call on the district Collector.
Later addressing a Press meet, Bahinipati said, “Odisha has got its identity for efforts of Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati. We must translate his wishes into reality.”
He said there should be efforts to bring development in the agriculture sector as the district lhas no industrial unit.
Stating that Andhra Pradesh is utilizing more water of the Vamsadhar River compared to Odisha, Bahinipati said he would talk to concerned Secretary for construction of a mega irrigation project on the river so that people of Gajpati would benefit.
He said Congress would be strengthened I n the district if organisational responsibility is given to local leaders. Among others, Mohana MLA Dasharathi Gamang, Parala twon Congress president Basant Kumar Panda, former municipality Chairman Sanjay Kumar Adhikari and youth leader Manoj Kumar Sahoo were present.
