Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday conducted raids on the office and houses of Jyotirmaya Rath, Executive Engineer of Ganjam district’s Baghalati Irrigation Division, at various places in the State while acting on a disproportionate assets complaint lodged against him.
The sleuths searched Rath’s residential house at lingaraj Nagar, paternal house at Friends Colony, Guilundi, father-in-law’s house at Guilundi Square and his office at Nuagarh, all in Brahmapur, and an apartment in lambodar Apartment at IRC Village, Bhubaneswar and a flat in Jivan Bima Nagar, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar simultaneously.
During search, it was found that Rath and his family members won household articles, including a Hero Honda Splendor Plus motorcycle worth Rs 6,74,209, gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 2,28,000, various bank, Postal and insurance deposits worth Rs 13,36,000 and hard cash of Rs 2,745. Similarly, they own immovable assets worth Rs 56,54,942. The value of all their assets was estimated at Rs 78, 95, 896.
