Baby operated successfully at Astha

Published on:

A critically ill nine-month-old  male infant with  early kidney  failure  was  saved  by the Astha  Mother and Child Care Hospital (AMCCH)  here  and  the  baby  boy  was  discharged from hospital on  Friday.

The baby’s father, Chotlal  Badaik,  a  farmer  and  his mother, Draupadi  Badaik, are residents  of   Gadburu  village  under Nuagaon  block. When they found their son was suffering from fever regularly and also had problem while  urinating, they admitted him at the hospital. He was detected with early kidney failure and the root cause of this was a blockade to the free flow of urine from the bladder because of congenital valves at the bladder neck.

The only treatment for this is a specialized surgery. Paediatric surgeon Dr Jainendra Kumar who came from Ranchi  to  AMCCH  with his specialised instruments successfully conducted the operation on May 13.
