A three-month-old baby girl died after she was allegedly administered a wrong vaccine by an anganwadi worker in the Malgodown area under the Uditnagar police limits here.
The baby’s parents on Thursday lodged a complaint with police stating that the Anganwadi Worker administered a DPT vaccine to the girl on Wednesday at the Anganwadi Centre near Malgodown.
The condition of the baby deteriorated and she died two to three hours after being administered the vaccine, they alleged. Police have started investigation into the incident.
“A case has been registered. A postmortem will be carried out by a team of doctors. We are trying to find out if there was any negligence on the part of the Anganwadi Worker,” a police official said.
