The Kendrapara Town police arrested and forwarded to court, one Pramod Kumar Kar alias Hanuman Baba of Ayodhyanagar on the alleged charges of blackmailing with a girl’s family of Mangarajpur under Derabish block. The court remanded him to jail custody by rejecting his bail plea.
The victim girl’s family had complained with the police that the Baba was demanding money and threatening them to circulate nude photographs of the girl if they did not oblige him. They alleged that the Baba had also circulated some morphed photos of the girl among his devotees.
The Baba, however, rubbished the charges and rather alleged that he was allegedly tied in a rope by the girl and his boyfriends a week back for opposing their objectionable act on his mutt premises. He said that after tying his hands and legs with a rope, they threw him to a roadside agriculture field near Gopa.
Notably, a few months back, the Baba was retrieved from a field by the locals while he was bundled off in a gunny bag with hand and legs tied. The locals alleged that the Baba was involved in clandestine act of keeping physical relationship with several female devotees.
Meanwhile, the police have recovered a few photographs of the girl circulated in public.
