Social worker S Judhisthira Patra has alleged that there are several BPL card holders as well as pension holders of Bijipur area of Brahmapur who have neither received rations nor pensions during ongoing lockdown period. These BPL card holders and pensioners are poor people having no other source of income for their survival. Due to Covid-19 lockdown in the city and restrictions on physical movement, these poor people are confined to their rooms without adequate resources for their survival, Patra said.
A Krushna Reddy, a resident of Bijipur Rath Street and Niranjan Maharana of Bijipur Kalua Street can be taken as examples of such victims, Patra claimed. He urged upon the local administration to help these families who are badly in need of rations and pension.
