The Abhibhabaka Sangha, Bargarh (ASB) led by its convenor Bimal Kumar Dash gave a memorandum to the SP, Bargarh, for taking steps to save youths from consumption of drugs and narcotics.They alleged that the youths were using caugh syrup and other drugs. Owing to addiction, the youths are involved in different crimes, like loot, snatching, robbery and even murder, they said, urging SP Padmini Sahoo to take steps in this regard on urgent basis.
Among others Sujit Mishra and Sushanta Hota were present.Meanwhile, the Bargarh town police have arrested five persons and seized 1,170 bottles of cough syrup at Gorumarket complex of the town on Saturday.
The five accused were identified as Santosh Meher of Kansaripada, Balangir, Shrikanta Nayak of Bhaler, MD Nishad, Nausad Khan and Saroj Bhua from Bargarh.A case has been registered against the culprits and more investigation is going on, said police.
