B’swar IIC’s absence raises eyebrows

Published on:

The absence of IIC Sarojini Nayak in the Balaswar Town police station ever since a Sub-Inspector was caught in a graft case by Vigilance officers on July 1 has become a talk of the town.

“The IIC is required in the trap case but she is not available. We have informed the Superintendent of Pollice regarding her absence,” said Vigilance SP Santosh Kumar Mishra.

Meanwhile, city DSP Manoj Kumar Rout said that the IIC is on leave for a week and has left the headquarters.

On July 1, Vigilance police had arrested SI Bimalendu Kar and middleman Santosh Das for taking bribe of Rs 25,000 from a Bibhu Prasad Patra of Bairamnagar to settle a civil dispute with his neighbour.
