The Sahadevkhunta police on Monday arrested two persons in connection with murder of a 14-year-old girl at Jadpur village in the district.
The accused identified as Sk Sahadad (19) and his father Sk Majid (45) were forwarded to court after being booked under Section 302 of IPC and other relevant sections including kidnapping, Section 25 and 27 of Arms act, said Sahadevkhunta PS IIC Subhranshu Sekhar Mishra .
“Basing on the compliant of the father of the deceased that his daughter was kidnapped by the main accused Sk Sahadad and killed in their house, the son-father duo was arrested. The motive of murder is yet to be ascertained and weapon of offence yet to be recovered. They may be taken on remand for further investigation if required,” said Mishra .
The minor girl, a student of Class IX had eloped with Sahadat from December 3. Her dead body was found under mysterious circumstances around 10.30 pm on Saturday in front of house of Sahadat in village Jadpur .
She had an injury near her neck. Initially it was not ascertained whether she died of stabbing or gunshot wounds .
However, the post-mortem confirmed she died of bullet injuries.
Father of the deceased Sk Alam lodged an FIR with police alleging that she was kidnapped and then killed. Police said the other members of the accused family were still at large and said efforts were on to trace the weapon of offence and round up others involved in the crime.
