Brahmapur Superintendent of Police Dr Sarvana Vivek M conducted a crime meeting here on Friday in which all IICs, SDPOs and Additional SPs were present. The meeting, among other things, discussed threadbare about all pending criminal cases and reviewed their progress/status.

Dr Vivek issued strict instructions to all the IICs for proper investigation and timely submission of charge sheets of all the cases pending under their respective jurisdictions.

In addition to the review, two more special sessions, one by the Forensic Medicine Department and the other by Sakhi Centre were held.

Head of Forensic Medicine Dr Sudipta Das along with Associate Professor and Assistant Professor of the Department who were present in the meeting shared some of the pressing issues relating to “medico legal cases” and put forth some valuable inputs as to how to strengthen the prosecution of rape and POCSO cases for information of the Investigating Officers.

Similarly, members of the One-stop-centre: Sakhi Centre vividly explained their roles and responsibilities, particularly their role in providing counselling to victims of domestic violence and shared some valuable inputs pertaining to handling of family dispute cases. Expertise of “one stop centre” will be utilised while handling domestic violence and family dispute cases for settlement of such sensitive cases amicably in the interest of both the parties, said Dr Vivek.
