To ensure safety to people in busy markets, the Brahmapur city police have reintroduced the foot patrolling system again.
The cops moved on foot in groups in busy Annapurna market, Sano Bazaar and Bijipur for one hour from 8pm to 9 pm on Saturday.
The foot patrolling, reintroduced after arrival of motorised vehicles and CCTV cameras, is expected to increase police visibility in busy areas, enhance the sense of safety among citizens and build gap between the citizens and the police.
As part of the patrolling, uniformed personnel went to all fast food shops and other business establishments and requested people to maintain social distancing and use masks to stay safe from the coronavirus.
They too urged citizens not to make any kind of crowd during the Covid-19 pandemic.ASP Prabhat Routray, city SDPO Vishnu Pati and many police officers participated.
