Different organisations like Manav Adhikar Surakhya Manch, Lok Shakti Abhiyan, Bharat Bikash Parishad and others have strongly demanded that State Government take over the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CPS) at Mohuda here at the earliest.
Submitting a memorandum to the RDC (SD), they also demanded an audit on the alleged misappropriation during 40 years by the previous management of the college.
They alleged that during the visit of former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, the Ganjam-Phulbani Chemists’ and Druggists’ Association (GPCDA), which had taken over the charge of management of the college, embezzled lakhs of rupees of the college.
They also demanded inclusion of the district Collector and other senior officials in the college management committee and expel the GPCDA secretary and college managing committee chairman and Principal at the soonest.
The associations also threatened that if the Government does not take any steps in the matter in coming days then they would resort to a mass agitation.
