B’pur artist makes smallest Nandighos

Published on:

Artist Satya Moharana of Brahmapur has created record with his miniature Nandighos (Lord Jagannath’s) chariot, which is the smallest in the world, for the Rath Yatra.

Already having got an entry into the India Book of Records and International Book of Records for the artistic creation, Moharana claims that he would achieve more recognition for the piece of work.

According to sources, the miniature chariot is a lookalike of the Nandighosa Rath of Lord Jagannath as it maintains  all artistic features of the latter. The chariot has two parrots and Dadhinauti atop and there are four horses in front of it. It has also 16 wheels.

But the interesting point is its size. While it is made up of teak and Gambhari wood, its height is 2.5 inch and width, 2 inch.

The height of the Sarathi is 1.5 inch, while Lord Jagannath’s height is 1 inch. Curiously, the weight of the whole chariot is just 8 gram.

Maharana worked tirelessly for four days to make the tiny chariot.
