Programme Officer, District Social Welfare Officer office, Bargarh Chandra Sahu was arrested on Wednesday on charge of possessing disproportionate assets to her known sources of income. During a simultaneous house searches conducted at two places in Bargarh district on Tuesday, the Vigilance had unearthed Rs 1.19 crore assets of Sahu.
The income, expenditure and assets of Sahu were calculated and she was found in possession of assets disproportionate to her legal sources of income by 122%. She could not account for the assets satisfactorily.
She was forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur and the court remanded her in judicial custody till December 6.
