A day after several former MLAs and office-bearers of Kalahandi district quit the Congress party alleging partiality over ticket distribution for the impending goals, yet another leader belonging to the Congress, Bijay Kumar Swain, deserted the party on Thursday.
Swain, who was the party’s working president of Bargarh district, sent his resignation letter to PCC president Niranjan Patnaik and officially renounced his post and primary membership of the party.
“I am tendering my resignation from the posts of district working president and primary member due to personal reasons,” he wrote in his letter.
Notably, the Congress has allotted the party ticket to Nipan Das and Pradeep Kumar Debta for the Bargarh Assembly constituency and the Bargarh Lok Sabha seat, respectively.
