With the State Government taking no measures to address their demands despite their protest in form of wearing black badges, Ayurvedic, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) doctors working under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) stage demonstrations in front of all the District Headquarters Hospitals (DHHs) across the State on Thursday.
The AYUSH doctors demanded fulfilment of their 10-point charter of demands, including reforms in the AYUSH cadre in the line with other States and status of Class-1 officer.
The doctors too had resorted to sporting black badges to press their demand between March 14 and 19, but in vain.
They alleged that though they are working in remote villages under hazardous conditions, they are being paid a very low salary.
“While allopathic doctors are getting special incentives for working in the KBK districts, we are being deprived of the same despite working in the same area,” said an AYUSH doctor.
