AYUSH docs to hold rally on Nov 4

The All Odisha AYUSH Doctors’ Association (AOADA), under the leadership of its president Dr Lotus Mishra, general secretary Dr Pravas Chandra Swain, held a Press conference here and announced that a rally would be held here on November 4 to give a memorandum to the Chief Minister to regularise their services.

Dr Mishra said, “The AYUSH doctors are greatly frustrated as the CM has recently announced regularisation of around 57,000 contractual employees but the 1,485 contractual AYUSH doctors appointed since 2007 were not included in that.”

The AYUSH doctors of CHCs/ PHCs have been working in rural, hilly, Naxal-affected areas on contractual basis under the National Health Mission. In the Covid-19 pandemic, they co-located CHC/ PHCs and worked as the frontline Covid warriors being involved in almost all aspects like screening, contact tracing, surveillance, follow-ups and TMC visit, he pointed out.
