The All Odisha Ayush Doctors’ Association (AOADA) led by its president Dr Lotus Mishra, general secretary Dr Pravas Chandra Swain, vice-presidents Dr Jajati Keshari Behera, Dr Ayaskanta Mohanty and Dr Prativa Ray on Friday gave a memorandum to the Chief Minister demanding job regularisation. Around 1,150 AYUSH doctors have been working in co-located CHC/PHCs of the State under National Helath Mission (NHM) on a contractual basis for last 14 years. AOADA president Dr Mishra said, “The AYUSH doctors are in great frustration for being in 14 years’ NHM contractual service. We all have decided that if our regularisation demand is not fulfilled within September 30, we shall go for noncooperation stir at workplaces all over State from October 2.”Maximum doctors in category are in their 40s; even some are in their 50s too.
They have already spent their whole youth life on contractual job with a very miserable salary i.e Rs 8,000 in 2007 to only Rs 29,000 in 2021. Whereas in the year 2007, the contractual MBBS doctors were getting Rs 12,000 only.
