Ayush docs demand job regularisation

The Ayush Doctors’ Association, Odisha, has decided to hold a demonstration before the State Assembly and a cease-work stir against the State Government’s callous attitude on their demands for job regularisation and salary at par with allopathic doctors.

Association president Dr Jyoti Ranjan Gahan, informing this at a Press meet here on Sunday, alleged that the State Government was not providing them salaries at par with the allopathic doctors even after the Central Government’s direction.

He also mentioned that the Health Department in 2016 had decided to create 1,485 posts and regularise them but the Finance Department was yet to sanction it on the pretext that since the Ayush doctors are in Group-B job they have to clear the OPSC examination to get their jobs regularised.

The association said that the doctors in 2007 were appointed on mark basis in Group-C post and demanded to regularise them in Group-C posts and later promote them to the Group-B post and regularize the job.

They also demanded to form Ayush Department as per the Central Government. Among others, association secretary Dr Tapas Kumar Dash, convenor Dr Biswaranjan Jena, Dr Umakant Sahu and Dr Mamata Mohanty were present.
