Ayush docs' black-badge stir enters third day

Published on:

On the third day of their weeklong black-badge-wearing agitation on Wednesday, the Odisha Ayush Doctors’ Association urged the State Government to take immediate measures to regularise their jobs.

As many as 1,450 Ayush doctors engaged under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) in the State are demanding job regularisation. They said that though they are working at the Community Health Centres and Primary Heath Centres at the grassroots level they are being deprived of basic facilities.

Association general secretary Tapan Kumar Das said the Government is finalising policies for all the clinical staffs of the NRHM but neglecting the Ayush doctors. Stating that the services of Ayush doctors in other States like in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are regular, the association demanded immediate measures for regularisation of their jobs.
